Surface Finishes for Metal Prints

White Gloss

By far the most popular and dramatic of our finishes, the White Gloss is an excellent finish for any subject, especially landscape or nature images, flowers, sports action photos, cars, water, etc. Because the dyes are infused into the thick clear coating and not on the surface, prints have a beautiful glow; people often think that the prints are backlit. The luminosity characteristic of metal prints is most evident with the gloss surfaces (white or silver), but the white underbase assures that colors will not be subdued like the Silver Gloss sometimes does. Rich vibrant colors glow on this unique surface.

White Matte

For portrait work, weddings or anytime surface reflection is a concern, the White Matte finish is a wise choice. This surface provides a rich, smooth, satiny finish where colors can come alive in a more subtle way than the gloss.

Silver Gloss

The Silver Gloss allows the silver metal surface to show through its clear high gloss finish. It is very luminous and is excellent for images with strong colors that won't be lost with the silver, non-white surface. Because you don't have a white under base, it can flaten colors with some images; but for images with strong colors, this finish can display a shimmery affect that is very remarkable. I would not recommend a large first time print on this surface without getting a smaller sample print first - but when it works, it is phenomenal.

Silver Matte

Like the Silver Gloss, the Silver Matte allows the silver metal surfae to show through. For images with strong colors that won't be lost on the silver, non-white surface, the Silver Matte offers a smooth, rich, non-glare surface for your images.
